A.F.Yassin channels his inner rebel by writing across genres (political and cultural), much to the gratification of readers hungry for a change from the ubiquitous romances and mysteries (creative). A former Cadet Journalist with Berita Harian (1970) and ex-editor of Dewan Masyarakat (DBP) this author has published two anthologies of short stories and  six trade reference titles (nonfiction). Also published is his M.A. thesis entitled Etika dan Wartawan in 1998. He was a columnist with Dewan Masyarakat (1976 – 1980) and with Utusan Melayu (1994 – 2004)  A.F.Yassin was  a Guest Fellow at the National University of Malaysia (UKM), and a consultant with Yayasan Warisan Johor (1998 – 2000).
